How does laminated glass fail and still hold?
FEMA’s wall-openings fact sheet treats impact-resistant glazing as a retrofit option for window openings. Laminated systems use two or more glass panes and an interlayer of film laminated into the assembly. The glass may break; the interlayer is what keeps the opening from becoming a hole.

How is this different from the Florida dealer band?
Keep Angi and Florida dealer dollars on separate rows. A South Florida installer guide prints $400–$1,800 per window installed and says most homeowners pay $800–$1,400 per window. That is a different geography and a different publisher than Angi.
